The Wall Remains-Poem

The Wall Remains

I made mistakes I know, and cause pain along the way,

For when that deep life changing love came my way,

I was not ready to take it on and deal with all that came my way.

It was like a current so strong, overwhelmed my senses,

Sent me into a tailspin, one too strong for me to handle.

I made mistakes I know in how, in how handles it all,

So even now, years later the wall remains,

Sadly, heartbreakingly the wall remains.

I made mistakes I know, and cause pain along the way,

For when that deep life changing love came my way,

And there is much perhaps that was left unsaid,

That needs to be said, but we are both too afraid to speak.

Though we come together, the air is never truly cleared,

And the dance continues, no resolution, no true union,

Though the love, the passion, all of it is strong and true, still,

decades later, sadly heartbreakingly, the wall remains.

Until all is address and spoken of freely, the wall, sadly, will remain.
