Today there was no Noon Mass, but there was Eucharistic Adoration, as a young girl came in with her parents kneeled and bowed her head to pray, probably just have a conversation with God, as she looked at that Eucharist, the beauty of it really hit me.
The Catholic faith is constantly attacked for being unbiblical, but as I watched that Eucharist there for us to center upon and as a reminder of Christ, of the Trinity. The Eucharist is not what one is worshiping, but he who lives in the Eucharist. The Eucharist reminds us of He who gave it all, the ultimate sacrifice, his own life for us, who in the end despite any fear, gave it his all, moved forward. This is a metaphor for our own lives, not to be afraid to move forward, to focus our lives, dreams, energies and make sacrifices for the fulfillment of our dreams, our vocational path, calling, true path and calling, even true Agape, sacred, all encompassing love. The Eucharist, that beauty of the faith, time to sit with Jesus surrounded by the stained glass windows, and that Eucharist in front of you, is just beautiful. It reminded me that again part of my faith journey is to answer the question in terms of Messiah and such of: Do I believe Jesus and Peter? (as per my previous post). As for all things being taken strictly and only from the written text, not what the Bible says. I could go into a full list here, but rather will give you this link http://www.ewtn.com/library/ANSWERS/ORALTRAD.htm It was such a beautiful experience today sitting in church praying, the candles, Eucharist, seeing that young girl, maybe 11 years old kneeling, praying or talking to God with her parents, just brought home the beauty of the faith, of being Italian. It would have been nice to have someone to share that moment there with me, but that will come I am sure. I am grateful to have the heritage I have, and the faith I have along with it.
