Birthday Reflection

Today is my birthday, my 54th birthday and I keep feeling in my heart, spirit and soul that call to ministry, to artistic and spiritual wellness/meditation ministry. For a number of reasons, I wish I had understood this a heck of a lot sooner in life, but instead of a straight line to my calling, I put myself through one hell of a maize. As I look to the future, I remember an old friend who had the philosophy of “Hope for the best, prepare for the worst”.  I am meditating on the best possible life and career scenarios, but since life is an adventure I have to embrace the journey forward understanding that life is not a flat line, or if so, not that often.  I have to have my goals, be clear in them and my path forward, but I also have to be able to be flexible as to what the journey forward holds.  Perhaps that is my greatest lesson at this point.

Born in New Jersey, August 1965, this Italian-American has always had a great interest in music, particularly the Oldies, Country and Ethnic music, including Irish. For over 10 years Ms. Appello passionately taught ESL to students of varying ages. Grounded if her faith and spirituality, Katherine endured a range of issues, including a great deal of pain, which was finally diagnosed to be associated with Fibromyalgia.
